Chinese Steamed Chicken 蒸白鸡

About the Recipe

Ingredients

Meat Options: Chicken Thigh or Whole Chicken.


To prepare for cooking:

  • 2 chicken thigh (chopped)

  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 1 teaspoon white pepper

  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 inch ginger (sliced thinly)

  • 2 tablespoon chinese cooking wine (optional)

  • 2 tablespoon green onion (chopped)


*Alternatively, if you prefer to use a Whole Chicken instead (like I always do), chop up the chicken into small pieces and adjust the above seasoning according to your own liking.

Preparation

Time to cook:

  1. Prepare the sauce by mixing Oyster Sauce, Soy Sauce, White Pepper, Sesame Oil, and Sugar in a bowl.

  2. Place the chicken on a serving plate, make sure that it is deep enough as the chicken will create a lot of juice.

  3. Pour the sauce all over the chicken.

  4. (Optional) Drizzle on 2 tbsp of chicken cooking wine on top.

  5. Add sliced ginger on top of the chicken.

  6. Steam the chicken for 15 minutes or until fully cooked.

  7. Garnish with green onion and enjoy!
